In this hybrid event Dr. Juneyoung Lee will explore the intricate dynamics between trade liberalization, cultural diversity, and protection in Central Asia. Drawing from her book, Culture and International Trade Law: From Conflict to Coordination, and integrating anthropological and ethical perspectives, she will conceptualize culture and its relevance within the realm of international trade.
Speaker
Juneyoung Lee is Legal Affairs Officer, Trade and Environment Division, World Trade Organization (WTO), and Adjunct Professor at the International Institute in Geneva.
Moderator
Sebastien Peyrouse is Director of the Central Asia Program and Research Professor, IERES, The George Washington University. His main areas of expertise are political systems in Central Asia, economic and social issues, Islam and religious minorities, and Central Asia’s geopolitical positioning toward China, India, and South Asia.
