As the announced deadline for the drawdown from Afghanistan approaches, the US is trying to shape a new policy towards Afghanistan’s neighbors. It is especially focused on both short-term and long-term strate-gies for cooperating with Afghanistan’s northern neighbors. This first Central Asia Policy Forum examines the US military involvement in Central Asia and its impact on US-Central Asia relations.
