Women of Uzbekistan: Empowered on Paper, Inferior on the Ground

Nozima Davletova is a lecturer at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Tashkent, where she also leads the Lab of Negotiation. Over the past two years, she has been actively involved in media-related processes in Uzbekistan. One of her projects was setting up an online interview project at Gazeta.uz. She was a PR manager for the INGO “Buyuk Kelajak,” which has brought together about 300 compatriots abroad to work on Uzbekistan’s development strategy up to 2035. Her research interests include women’s empowerment, media and social media, education, and water diplomacy in Central Asia.
