While Central Asia finds itself in the center of at least three regional integration visions from Russia, China and the US, the private sectors in these countries need to embrace significant opportunities to cooperate, enhanced by policies of their respective governments. This paper argues that the private sector in Central Asia needs to increase its role in regional cooperation in order to capture the opportunities offered by the regionalization processes in Eurasia. It examines the region’s two largest economies – Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan – and offers possible solutions for greater connectivity.
