New Documentary: “Moscow’s Little Kyrgyzstan”

Moscow’s Little Kyrgyzstan presents the story of ten immigrants from Kyrgyzstan living in Moscow, showing the diverse reality of millions of immigrant workers in Russia in their own words.

It broaches various themes that affect their everyday lives, such as the overbearing and corrupt Russian bureaucracy, harassment from the police and anti-immigrant sentiment among the general population, while looking into the effects of the current economic crisis in Russia on the lives of migrant workers and the changes that followed Kyrgyzstan’s entry into the Kremlin-led Eurasian Economic Union in August 2015.
